30 Day Vibrant Health Diet Road-test…Days Eight To Fifteen

Entering the second week of my thirty day challenge I was confident of easily sticking to the programme. I decided to try a “Bullet Proof Coffee” Make a strong long black, add a heaped teaspoon of butter plus a tablespoon of coconut oil and blend together.

It’s not really a matter of taste but getting the ratios of ingredients right for you. My first cup was great, my second was like drinking an oil slick. The idea is to create a strong energy source to carry you through a workout or through physical work.

I decided I didn’t need this on days when I was doing computer work. I’ve considered adding some oil to my morning coffee I have on my walk but I don’t want to change the flavour.

I continued with the same diet and late in the week I weighed myself for the first time. I had lost 2 1/2 kg or about 5 1/2 pounds. I knew I had lost weight as my jeans were more comfortable and a favourite form fitting shirt fitted much better.

Near the end of the week I had my first food craving, but it wasn’t for sugar, it was for meat. I was driving around dreaming of a large plate of Greek spiced lamb. This lasted for a couple of days and I can’t explain what it means.

At no time have I been hungry as there is no reason to be, there have been a few times in the afternoon when I would stand and stare into the refrigerator, I was not hungry but bored, so I had a few almonds or a cup of tea.

Sue my wife hasn’t joined me completely but as I do most of the cooking she is perfectly happy leaving out rice, pasta and potato and she notices she feels less hungry late in the evening.

In the week before I started, I hit the pasta as I really like it, but I was always searching for something sweet afterwards, I only feel that a little now, so I have some dark chocolate.

The cost of eating like this is less, we have less takeaway, fewer snacks, we don’t need lots of the condiments which mostly contain sugar. We are eating the same amount of meat, but more vegetables. I recommend just eating the in season greens, which are inexpensive.

Two weeks down, with less pain and less weight.

Wishing you Great health and happiness
