3 Ways To Put The Life Back Into Your Business Day

Hi Business Wellness Seekers

Business can be unrelenting, putting out fires, managing staff and the vagaries of the economy. There are many things you can’t control such as government legislation and staff checking Facebook when they appear to be sweating over an overdue project.

But there is something that you can control and need to control. That is your energy, your focus and your ability to bounce back and keep showing up and ensuring your staff can pay for their holidays.

Every day you make choices about the food and drinks you consume and everyday your ability to function at a high level is to some extent dictated by your nutrition.

Sure your drive, skill and determination are vital but if you want to optimise your energy, then there is a way to do it.

How we feel at any point in time is regulated by a few key things. Your blood sugar, blood hormones and the ability of your cells to produce energy and disperse it on demand.

  1. Your blood sugar is best when it is stable across, that is as flat a line as possible on a chart. When there are lots of peaks and valleys like a volatile stock chart your mood and energy is just as volatile.

The secret to stable sugar is to avoid and sugar and processed foods, this way there is less reason for insulin to be secreted to remove the excess sugar and push it into your fat cells for fat conversion.

  1. The condition of your cells and most importantly your cell membranes depends on the quality of fats you consume in your diet.

Each of your 50 million cells has a membrane which is comprised mostly of fat. If you eat fried foods then some of that fat will be entering your cells via the membrane. If you eat an avocado then some of that fat will enter the same membrane.

So your cells can be exposed to the nutrients of a good fat or the toxic material of a fat. One gives energy and one inhibits energy, and the good news is that you can completely control this.

  1. Blood hormones are the result of our thoughts, getting upset produces stress hormones and happy thoughts produce happy hormones. That is an over simplification but close enough to true to cause you to stop and consider your most consistent thoughts, especially if they are negative.
