Why Weight Loss Is Not The Problem.

If you are overweight then you may well wonder why weight loss is not the problem. The reality is anyone can lose weight. All you have to do is stop eating. Or realistically just eat very few calories, and you will shed the excess weight.

The problem of course is that is not sustainable and probably not very healthy. If you try it you will fail and put on more weight, leaving you even more frustrated. And this gets worse with every failed attempt.

The first thing to do is find a way to eat which will cause you to lose weight and you can live with it for life. Because weight management, and more importantly good health are lifelong pursuits.

In my research and clinical experience over the past 30years, a diet which embraces healthy carbs and healthy fats is the ideal model. Because it will allow most people to lose weight and be healthy.

However about 20% of people won’t respond to a strict low carb diet, and will need to make modifications.

A low fat, counting calories diet also causes weight loss, but there is a big question over health especially in managing insulin resistance, diabetes, dementia and cancer.

The most important aspect of sustainability happens not in your fat cells but in your mind. That hard to pin down part of the brain where our deepest desires are and our biggest decisions are made.

Often referred to as our subconscious, this part of us will either cause us to succeed or fail at weight loss depending on what messages we have absorbed.

The weight loss success formula is much simpler than you would imagine. Right diet plus right mindset and enjoy moving your body around. Then just keep doing it.
